Financial Manager – Creative Agency / London, UK

A boutique agency within the lifestyle/sport creative industry are looking for a Financial Manager to come on board on a permanent basis at an exciting time of growth. This position will be responsible for delivering consistent day to day running of the accounts department working alongside an FD and accountant and reporting into two company directors.

This is a full-time role working in our studio at Kings Cross and offering hybrid working patterns and flexibility with hours.




  • Owning the reporting of revenue and the P&L to stakeholders, and to ensure that
    all systems, controls and processes are robust and eliminate any risk of revenue
    leakage or misstatement.

  • Overseeing the management of month end KPIs of creditors, debtors and Income
    reconciliation; the audit and compliance function: responsible for managing client
    audits and delivering adhoc client reporting

  • Owning the end-to-end revenue process

  • Consolidating and reporting of Actuals and Forecast to stakeholders

  • Implementing systems, practices and behaviours both within the department and
    the wider agency to ensure that all group revenue is accurately forecast,
    generated, booked, and ultimately reported



  • Managing and inputting all data relating to external costs and suppliers

  • Preparing and managing all client invoices based on data shared by the client

  • Tracking all costs against client projects and working studio (capital / cashflow /
    payroll w/accountant / VAT)

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts

  • Managing all debtors and escalating issues to Directors and client teams on a
    monthly basis

  • Managing approvals and preparing weekly/monthly payment runs for suppliers

  • Managing approvals and preparing monthly expenses payments for the team

  • Managing and processing payments for running costs such as rent, rates etc.

  • Managing and finalising client contracts /supplier details with the project teams

  • Managing job numbers for efficient cost management

  • Managing the interface with client finance platforms and ensuring all invoices are
    suitably prepared and uploaded

  • Creating Purchase Orders for suppliers

  • Tracking client invoices and ensuring the smooth running of payments and

  • Bank Reconciliation (GBP, USD, EURO)

  • Reviewing banking activity to identify payments or any issues

  • Managing use of currency accounts and overview of currency gains/losses

  • Providing adhoc support to the Directors by preparing reports to support decision
    making on client profitability, overheads, recruitment and investments

  • Review of Monthly Management Accounts, Revenue and Cost forecasts, and
    Cashflow to identify priorities or actions required.



  • Part qualified or experience working within a similar role 

  • A background within Agency/Communications/Consulting is highly desirable 

  • Experience of managing all aspects of billings, cost management and preparation
    of data for monthly management accounts

  • Xero experience: experience in managing all financial issues through the Xero
    platform is highly desirable 

  • A strong understanding of creative income streams

  • A desire to continuously improve existing practices and controls

  • An ability to lead meetings and confidently resolve problems

  • Previous managerial experience would be highly advantageous 

  • Commercially astute

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Highly organised and ability to manage own work load
